Unicode Technical Committee approves fix for Laminal diacritic

We've noted on our charts webpage that in some fonts the Laminal diacritic is a square rather than the intended rectangle - because the official "representative glyph" in the Unicode Charts used for this character (U+033B) is a square, with the name "Combining Square Below". The Unicode Technical Committee has now approved a request by Lorna Evans of SIL International and Patricia Keating of the IPA to change the glyph to a rectangle. SIL will modify its fonts accordingly, and it is hoped that eventually other font developers will do so. Many thanks to Lorna for this initiative.
