The International Phonetic Association would like to remind members and the wider phonetics community of the Gösta Memorial Fund, which supports IPA student members’ participation in the International Congress of Phonetic Sciences (ICPhS).

Over the years, the IPA has supported many students through IPA Student Awards and more recently through the IPA Student Mobility Programme. In ICPhS years, additional support for student participation is provided through the Gösta Memorial Fund, helping students attend and present their work at this major international event.

We are grateful to all those who have contributed to the fund over the years, including a very recent donor. Their generosity helps ensure continued support for students and early-career researchers in phonetics.

The Gösta Bruce Memorial Fund depends on continuing donations. IPA members (and others) are warmly invited to consider contributing to the Fund in order to increase the number of Gösta Bruce Scholarships that can be awarded to students.Donations of any size are greatly appreciated and help ensure the continuation of this support.
