Phonetic Language Periphery and Some Problems of Russian Orthoepy and Phonetics

The present investigation is directed toward the solution of one of the most urgent problems of contemporary Russian orthoepy and culture of speech - the problem of detecting the specific character of pronunciation of words, which relate to different layers of the lexical system of the Russian language, the problem of studying the changing orthoepic standard and the problem of describing the contemporary Russian language from the point of view of the pronunciation of the phonetic periphery.
