Psycho-Physiological and Acoustic Background of Stress and Emotion Expression in Speech

The paper describes the most essential psycho-physiological phenomena underlying unconscious expression of stress and emotional arousal in the acoustic speech signal. The concept of Functional State (FS) of the human is used. Some involuntary and relatively standard psycho-physiological processes in the brain and organism during the transition from calm to stress and related modifications of acoustic speech signal are described.
